A "sort of" class breakfast--Class Breakfasts, 2021

In Memory--Jim Philo

Due to the virus,

CLASS BREAKFASTS until further notice!

As of May, 2021, things in Oregon Covid restrictions seem to be eased a bit.  Maybe we can get back together sooner than later!

Class breakfasts WILL resume as soon as it is deemed safe for groups like ours to gather together again!!!

Hope you and everyone in your family are staying well.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we did NOT hold the 57th Annual Class Reunion as we had planned to do. We hope we that we can reunite for the 58th sometime during the year 2021!

If anyone is interested in having an audio/visual online get together using Zoom, please let John Owen know. He will be happy to set it up and send you a link to join in. We would have to do this on a certain date and time.

If you are interested in a Zoom get together, contact John. He says he always has the time to chat with  friends. Feel free to call, text or email  at your convenience.

The best source of information is our website, You can access coming events, classmate photos, caring and sharing… and much more.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the Spring weather. Karen is recovering from foot surgery and I am busy, still working for the schools in Baker City.

John Owen, Class of 1963 NHS

If you have any news you would like to share with the class, please send it to

and I will post it here on the website.

We started having monthly class breakfasts 19 years ago, in February 2002!  That was when a small group gathered in Salem area to begin working on trying to locate all the class members, prior to our 40th reunion that was scheduled for the following year!  During those 19 years, we've only missed 3 times (until Covid-19 hit)--once when we scheduled the breakfast in central Oregon & no one showed up, and two other times when we cancelled the event due to severe weather limitations!   GO CUBS

Did you know?  Our site has now been viewed more than 58,000 times!

This site has had 61,698 visits since we started it in November 2013!

To make it easier for planning our calendars:

Based on our breakfast location history of the past few years, here is a  more-or-less schedule that we have begun using for our upcoming breakfasts . It is "more-or-less" because we can always make a change if it seems good to do so.  (For example, say if someone who lives farther away than Western Oregon should happen to come through, we are always happy to change our schedule to a date or location so they would be able to join us!!)                                 [  ON HOLD FOR NOW... ]

Jan. & July       Woodburn or Wilsonville area

Feb. & Aug.      Newport

Mar. & Sept.     Spirit Mountain, Grand Ronde

Apr & Oct.        Tigard, Tualatin or elsewhere on I-5

May & Nov.       Albany

June & Dec.     Salem

The idea is to make the breakfast sites reachable for as many classmates as possible!

Do YOU have other ideas?  Other locations where you would like to meet for breakfast?  In the past we have tried the Eugene area a few times, but the turnout there was usually low.  We have never met in Corvallis, so that is another possibility.    Would really like to hear your ideas!

Please contact us at and let us hear your ideas!
